getting error on lxc create

I just set up a new proxmox server at home, it is using 2xssd in zfs raid1 (unsure if this is related to my problem) when i try to create my first container i get this error:

you cannot run containers that way, just use the ZFS storage plugin.

Ran into the same err. w. a phresh 4.1
o.k., your proposal works, but why do I have to create a new ZFS storage node over the "local" ZFS storage node to create an LXE Container (why did you discontinue OpenVZ anyways - sorry, rhetorical question) if local already has content "Disk image, ISO images, Container, Container template"?
