Hello

Recently I noticed this messages in one of my Proxmox VE nodes:

kvm: 2366: cpu0 disabled perfctr wrmsr: 0xc1 data 0xffffffffff1b1e41
kvm: 2366: cpu0 disabled perfctr wrmsr: 0x186 data 0x5100c0
kvm: 2366: cpu0 disabled perfctr wrmsr: 0x0
kvm: 2366: cpu0 disabled perfctr wrmsr: 0x186 data 0x5100c0
kvm: 2366: cpu0 disabled perfctr wrmsr: 0x0
kvm: 2366: cpu0 disabled perfctr wrmsr: 0x186 data 0x5100c0
kvm: 2366: cpu0 disabled perfctr wrmsr: 0x0

I migrated the OpenVZ machines of this node to another and let just one KVM. That KVM is running normally, but I'm worried about those messages.

Best regards

I also have a lot of these messages in syslog, but only when i run a Windows-VM with Processor Setting "Default(qemu64)".
If i change Processor Setting to "Host" the messages are gone.
A Linux VM (KVM) with Processor Setting "default(qemu64)" caused no messages.

What is the Problem?
Is it critical?

Alex

I have very similar message with Centos 6.3 x86_64 installed into KVM VM on PVE 2.2 fully updated, and not matter if the cpu are in Host or qemu64, the message is always the same, but workable on my lab, I have not tested in production environments.
