Game server on LXC container isn't visible to internet

Hallo

I run Proxmox VE 7.0-11 and I've set up a DCS World Server on a Debian LXC template, following this guide;

https://teamwadafak.com/how-to-run-dcs-dedicated-server-on-linux/

It was sort of finnicky to get the dedicated server to work using Wine, but in the end it worked! However, I can only connect to the server locally. Something hinders it from being visible to the rest of the internet. I have disabled firewall on all levels in Proxmox, and opened relevant ports both on my router and also in the container with iptables. Ports are marked as being open when using port open tools like https://canyouseeme.org/

I experienced the exact same thing with my old TrueNAS setup, when I ran the server in a Windows VM directly under TrueNAS.

I have a feeling I am ignorant of some level of security in proxmox, or maybe an interaction between the physical router and proxmox. I have now run out of ideas and am looking to you for help,

Kind regards

If you can access the game server locally but not from the internet I would guess your port-forward in your router is wrong. Did you forward the correct port with the IP of your LXC as the target and not the IP of your host? And I guess you got a public IPv4 IP from your ISP and not a pubic IPv6 range? Using a public IPv6 IP to connect to a privte IPv4 IP isn't that easy.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Router is set to port forward to the IP of the LXC container. I'm pretty sure everything is in IPv4, including the public IP from my ISP.
