Because it's a proxmox VM, if I run the command in the VM it gives an error.

I'd use apt autopurge "*fwupd*". Not sure it makes sense to have this in a normal VM.

Sorry, but this has nothing to do with PVE itself. If everyone starts to ask os specific questions for their virtual machines because they run on PVE the forum will explode. You won’t call your car dealer if you’re stuck in heavy traffic. Just a hint to re-think if you post next time and nothing personal.
