Fresh Proxmox Install - how to pass PCI Hardware to VM

Hey All, totally new Non-subscription Proxmoxuser. Using Co-Pilot I have worked through various hardware, and software issues preventing installation. I have installed, successfully updated my Proxmox install, and I have initiated my first VM. I have not started the VM yet as I was instructed to pass the HBA through to the TrueNAS instance in the VM, but here Co-Pilot breaks down. Co-Pilot is telling me to look for entries that do not exist. Any assistance on how to pass a PCI device to my TrueNAS (and I'm dealing with Co-Pilot, so I don't even know if a passthrough is actually necessary)yet
