We are deploying new clusters of Proxmox VE 9.1 and Ceph, there will be a delay in obtaining Subscription Keys or information.

Should us delay installation of Ceph, as we cannot use Enterprise Repos ?

We don't want to deploy Ceph, only to find later we need to redeploy or reiinstall the host hypervisor.

So should we continue or pause and wait to unlock the enterprise repos.

Hi @dick_fiddler69 ,

You should not need to redeploy anything when you purchase the subscription. The packages in no-sub repo run ahead of enterprise repo. At some point the enterprise repo will catch up and you will be in-sync with Enterprise repo. As you will have proper support subscription contract, I am sure the Proxmox GmbH personnel will support you when needed.

If you want an official answer - reach out to your reseller, or if buying directly from Proxmox - shop@proxmox.com

Cheers

thanks, I will email them tomorrow. We have installed 9.1 VE, but we were wondering if we actually needed access to Enterprise Repos before subscription arrives.

So techncailly if we proceed before entering subscription our hosts will be on later versions than Enterprise.

We will take that under consideration.

You don't need access if you don't want updates beyond 9.1. But there have been important security updates recently...

Only if you install updates (and configure the no-subscription repository instead of the enterprise repository). The PVE 9.1 ISO is not ahead of the enterprise repository (and actually behind with some important updates currently, I think).
