Fresh install network is down

i just did a fresh install of promox. when i try to access the web GUI I can not get to it. What I found out is that all the network interfaces are down. The server works normally with the NICs and with linux. What am I missing?

Hi @thewrath009 , welcome to the forum.

Your output shows that the interface has no link. Are you sure the cable is plugged in? Into the right port? Is the cable itself working? Have you checked the link light on the NIC?

It’s possible you have a card that PVE doesn’t include a driver for, though since it’s a Dell card, that’s unlikely.

Other possibilities:

• You might have a dual-personality NIC (Ethernet/Infiniband) that isn’t configured correctly in the NIC’s BIOS.
• There could be a firmware issue causing the NIC to take too long to come up.

Try bringing it up manually: ip link set dev <interface> up

Run this on both interfaces you have.

Keep in mind that PVE is based on Debian with a Ubuntu-derived kernel, so this is just standard Linux network troubleshooting - there are plenty of guides online that can help.
