Hi
I will do a fresh install since the previous Install was just to test. It is a single Server.
There is an (now) Broadcom Raid Controller who is just a "JBOD". In front there are different Brand Sata SSD with 960GB each.
Sorry I cant remember how much 10 or so?!

Internal there are 1TB M2 Sata WD Red SSDs. Maybe 6? The are running truth the Raid Controller to.
Sadly I dont have more internal Sata Ports so 2 addional of the WD are connect to the Server Internal Ports.

For Proxmox I got 2 WD Blue for the Sata Ports where the should go.

The PCI-E Sata are a total different Topic I will use them as cache or so.

How to format them and what format?

Thanks!

Your message is hard to understand.

If all discs are separate (JBOD/no RAID) I think ZFS is the best option.

10 x 960GB SSD - ZFS RAIDZ You must set up notifications and make sure they work. RAIDZ can have one disc fail but not two. RAIDZ2 can have two discs fail but not three.

Two (or six) x 1Tb SSDs - if its two then a mirror, otherwise RAIDZ.

You already have a lot of storage and it is all SSD. WD Blue is a spinning disc and will use more electricity than SSD. I recommend you get rid of them.

Sorry I got the flue and did not replay yet. It is a SSD sorry for not saying that. Well there are 2 of them the 2nd is intend to work as backup for the Proxmox OS in case the first SSD fail for some reason.
Sorry I did count again there are 17x 960GB SSDs mixed Vendor. On that SSD should be the main OS of the different Virtual Machines be installed. When the make a Backup for example that will be stored on my NAS.

Forgett for a moment the internal M2 WD Red SSD.
The are split. A Bunch are running truth the Controller where 960GB SSD are connect since the Backplate had spare connector to install in the Back 4 HDD into a cage. Now the are replaced by the mention WD Red 1TB SSD.
2x WD Red 1TB SSD does not have any space to run truth the Controller so the are connect at the Mainboard. I did not test if the got recognised or not.
I dont know what the speedwise mean or if the run in an separate ZDF Pool.

The PCI-E SSD can be ignored for now since I will use them for caching and so and should not be used in any pool.

Thanks
