Fortimail VM in proxmox

i have to deploy the fortimail vm under proxmox, the vm is in ovf format i have done my best to deploy an ovf format vm in proxmox but without any resulat .... do you think that proxmox support that this vm? if yes hope more help

if you provide a download link I can test it here - I am pretty sure it will run.
 
pls provide an official download link - and I assume fortigate support can also assist here.
 
to dowload from fortinet.com you need to have acces to this plateforme, my boss gave me the package i sent you in 4shared,
i have posted at fortinet forum but nobody has anwsered :(

And I doubt that its legal.

I suggest you contact your Fortimail reseller/Support, then can get in contact with our support.
 
here is the dowload link https://support.fortinet.com/ but it needs a login and password, and you need to be a previliged memebre to dowload the package ...; hope that this makes sens to you
i've send a message to fortinet support and i haven't receive any answer right now
 
basically, I am pretty sure that it run on Proxmox VE`(as KVM guest). but more important, does Fortinet "allows" and "support" this?
 
i've spent a week working on it without any result, that's the message i recceived from fortinet support:

Fortinet has just released the Fortigate KVM VM which works very nicely under Proxmox. I would suggest getting a new feature request submitted to support KVM on the Fortimail.

i'm waiting for your reply if you could do something.

So what is the problem now? They tell that it works nicely under Proxmox. So if they know this, they can also tell the steps needed to use it on Proxmox.
As I have no download link to this appliance, I cannot test.
 
FYI I have been working with Fortinet on their FortiGate for KVM appliance since late last year. Originally it only had e1000/IDE support but I pushed them and got virtio networking/storage added. We have tested this extensively on Proxmox/KVM and it works well.

They do have plans for official support of FortiMail and FortiManager on KVM but I am not sure how far away these will be.


We are also working with another very large commercial vendor at the moment on getting their BSD based network appliance running on KVM. This particular vendor will be releasing their product later this month or early next month.

If you have any queries on FortiGate on KVM pop me a private message and I am happy to answer any questions. I can even provide remote access to live demo boxes to anyone who wants to have a look at it.
 
The Fortigate KVM version works well in Proxmox, there are plans for FortiAnalyzer and Fortimanager KVM versions however I don't believe there are any plans for Fortimail KVM so far.
 
Yes, i have tested FortiGate VM and it works nicely under proxmox, but Unfortunately i don't get a,y news about FortiMail on KVM Hypervisor :(
 
Just an update on this.... Fortinet has now released the Fortimail KVM image and it works quite well in Proxmox
