Hello everybody,

Guys, I have a problem with the NVME of one of my servers, it is losing data and I'm already proceeding with the exchange, what brings me here is the fact that when the backup fails on a vm on this server the file "vm-xxx-fleece-0.qcow2" is not deleted and so the next backup job fails "ERROR: disk image "/var/lib/vz/images/xxx/vm-xxx-fleece-0.qcow2" already exists.

Is there a way to get around this?

Thank you all in advance.

I just ran into this (when stopping a backup half way) and a fleece virtual disk remained on ZFS, and broke the next backup.
My fix was to remove the zvol manually. I assume that removing the fleece file also works fine (as it only contains old data for the old backup).
Backup with fleecing appears to not clean up properly (on error or interruption) on an up to date Proxmox VE 8.2.3.

It's not related to zfs, I don't use ZFS and it also happens.
So I misunderstood your original post:
That's exactly what I did.
leesteken as he reported removed the zvol, while you removed the fleecing file itself. I guess you were responding to the assumption that leesteken wrote in that post.

Based on my understanding (now wrong) of your post - I assumed this as further evidence to this bug being ZFS-related, however now we can determine that it happens even without ZFS.

Thanks for clearing this up.
