First time to know about Proxmox (will install on DL380)

Hi guys,
Thank you all who supports other people in any way they can.

I will receive a server HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 (or Plus) with basic config and I am intending to install Proxmox (not going for VMware) as I mostly use open source products.

My questions are:
- For backup procedure I need to install in the same server by creating a separate vm in proxmox VE?
- Will this server machine is supported by Proxmox?
- Is there any limitation in Proxmox VE or in backup server that I would know?

It depends on what you mean by "backup procedure". In general, if your backup is collocated on the same server as your source data and that server dies, you will not be happy.

- Will this server machine is supported by Proxmox?

There are no hardware qualification guarantees. PVE is using Debian as an OS base with Ubuntu Kernel. It should work with most hardware. If there are any proprietary cards, it may not work fully. Its also possible for things to get broken, retired, etc.

- Is there any limitation in Proxmox VE or in backup server that I would know?

This is a very open ended question. The generic answer is "no". That said, you can find "Known Issues & Breaking Changes" on the Roadmap page:
