hi , i've a problem when i need to restore a VM from snapshot. Vm has windows 10 operative system, and it's run correctly ( after restore snapshot ) , but when i runs my work program, it's not works because database ( filemaker ) is corrupt. Then i calls tecnical assistance and they resolve the problem , but, everytime i need to restore VM, i've the same problem. My question is : is ti possible that the problem it's cause by a compression ? i've set ZSTD compression for my snapshots.
Thanx to all in advance
:)

do you make the backups in 'snapshot' mode? do you have the guest agent installed/configured?

hello Dcsapak , thanks for reply. Yes, i've make backup in snapshot mode, but i've tried make in stop mode too, and guest agent it's installed on each VM.....

if your database corrupts in stop mode, there is probably something wrong with the application or storage itself, because in that case
there nothing from pve side that could change the data in between (it is like when you shutdown the pc, and make an image of the harddisk)

hello Dcsapak, reading your answer, i thought that i've never tried a restore from a backup in stop mode, because first time i've done backup in snapshot mode, and the database was corrupted after restore, than i've done backup up in stop mode but i never restored from this backup, and the last time i've shutdown the VM manually, and than made backup in snapshot mode ( thinking if the VM was off, the snapshot mode don't make problems ), so, the last chance is : backup in stop, and try to restore from this . I try , then i'll update this post :D
Thanks so much for your help
