Figuring out disk setup with HP P440

Hi guys.
I'm about to move from a small old desktop as my promox server to a HP DL380 Gen 9 with much more ram and cpu power.
I've recently purchased two 2TB HPE SSDs with model "DDYE1920S5xnNMRI" and HPE part number "850334-003" to put in the server in order to not have to worry about needing to buy new disk for the next few years. My proper data storage is on a separate nas, so these 2 SSDs for Proxmox are just for local data.

The server has a P440 raid card installed, which is currently in HBA mode, I then installed proxmox on the 2 disks in a zfs raid 1. I understand that due to me using the hardware raid card, I may not have full SMART data, but after buying these disks used I'd really like that information. (See attached screenshot).

I'm debating what to do now. Am I able to install some additional package/utility that will enable smart data for the current setup? Or should I consider simply utilizng the hardware raid card and reinstalling with LVM instead of ZFS? I do care about having some sort of raid ICE.

Any opinions?

Thanks all.
