Hi Guys,

The features tab of www.proxmox.com is kinda limited and doesn't have a whole lot about the features of the platform. A few specific questions I am looking to have answered to see if it is supported by Proxmox or not.

  • Ability to have a /dev/sda and a /dev/sdb in the same VM? I.e two disks
  • Ability to have two non-vlanned nics in a VM and have isolated communications between two vm's on private nic's. Will proxmox handle that network isolation on the "backnet" so only the vm's whose traffic is destined for it can receive and transmit on that ip.
  • Can a user create their own template from snapshots and deploy images based on those snapshots?
  • Can the RAM on a VM be dynamically increased/decreased without a reboot of the VM?

That is all for now.

Thank you

Jay

Yes to those 3. If you need details, please report back.

As far as I know this mostly depends on the guest OS. Windows is incapable of such things (KVM), Linux can handle that (at least on KVM, should work under openvz too).

However, KVM added the memory balooning feature a little while ago, which requires a special driver to be installed within the guest. With said balooning, even Windows gets tricked into allowing online memory resizing.
