Hi all,
i read tons of reddit/forum, but still not decided how to bring up my new proxmox installation.
I have a new:
- nuc intel 11 extreme
- 32 gb ram
- 3 x 1tb ssd nvme (2x mirrored for critical data + backup (TrueNAS or OMV, deciding...)), 1x used for media server and vm data)
- 1 x 512gb ssd nvme
i'm focusing into a setup where main goal is fast and easy recover is achieved for both PVE installation disk and VM/data disk in case of: disk failure or hardware failure.
Hardware failure: moving all disk should be pretty easy
Disk Failure:
- VM/data: i think to have decided that best appproach is a PVB container with data stored onto 1x SSD, replicated to 2x raid SSD, and backed up on a external usb storage... should be fine, right? )
- PVE Host: this is where i need your help: i read that you can backup /var/lib/pve-cluster/config.db after a fresh installation... anyway i'm focusing on a smarter/quicker approach... for example if i install pve onto the single 512gb disk with zfs, can i make regular backup/export whole file system externally and the recover by: replace failed disk, boot system with a live distro and zfs format new disk and import backup/snapshot from bkp source (external usb or other ssd)... what do you think? what is your suggestion?
thank you
