I've been fighting Proxmox for a week or two, just trying to get it up and running on my DL360p with zfs. I've updated the firmware and configured the raid card to run in HBA mode.
I have 5 240GB SSDs. When I try to setup ZFS Raid 1, I get an error that it failed to create partitions on one of the drives. Looking at the console output, it looks like it's failing to find the drive/address. If I boot into debug mode, I can access and partition the drives with no problem.
Strangely, I made it further before I set the p420i to HBA mode. If I setup all the devices as Raid 0 logical drives, Proxmox would install with no problem. The issue was the DL360p wouldn't boot from my zpool and it seems like HBA is the only way to make that happen.
So my question is: is there any sort of formatting or partitioning that Proxmox expects? Do I need the drives setup as logical drives before trying to install?
Thanks for any help!
