I've started to receive these warnings on reallocated sectors on a disk, which I know is a sign of replacement ASAP. The concern is that the HDD is connected via a USB dock and the full USB port is passed through to the VM. On the VM I see no sign on wear and the SMART values are all green.
Looking at my disks in dev/sd[letter] I see a conflict of assigned letters and drives. The error I get is the following:
Device: /dev/sdm [SAT], Failed SMART usage Attribute: 5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct.
Device info:
XXX XXXXXXXX-XXXXXXX, S/N:XX-XXXXXXXXXXXX, WWN:X-XXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX, FW:XX.XXXXX, 3.00 TB
I've checked the drive in the VM and all the SMART signals for that drive and serial no are green. On the Proxmox host the drive assigned to /dev/sdm is a 14TB drive and it's also "green".
196 Reallocated_Event_Count 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always - 0
What could be the issue here?
