Ext4 and Qcow2 "Guest does not support Snapshot"

For ext 4 directory storage note 2 it states snapshot is possible for qcow2. However i get the message "The current guest configuration does not support taking new snapshots"

Am I missing something else in the config. This is Version 7.4

Is this because the TPM state disk is set to raw format whereas the boot and efi are qcow2 ?

There are other storage types (non-qcow based) that support snapshots, and where this functionality works for all disks, including TPM.

You could do qcow2 with tpm disk reflink copies (eg on xfs) as snapshots, works like a charm so no problem for windows vm's.

Thanks for tip about storage type. I moved the tpm to lvmthin now have snapshots.
