Export from PVE 1.9 virtual machine and import in PVE4.1

i have old PVE 1.9 server installation with some KVM virtual server linux and win,
and a new empty PVE 4.1 server.

can i backup (vzdump) and restore old 1.9 backup in 4.1 directly?
Or i need to create new KVM and attach qcow disk?
i need some conversion of virtual hardware machine or something?

how do we go about this?

No, the config format changed.

There is an script for doing the upgrade automatically, but this was developed to upgrade from 1.9 to 2.0 - you really missed a lot of releases here.

In your case, I recommend you just create a new VM config on your new 4.1 host, then copy the virtual disk and adapt the VM config file to include this virtual disk.

OK edit the config isn't a problem, but qcow2 disk image file need to be upgraded or not?
