we think about to replace an Areca 1680 with an LSI 9280 (due hardware defect and delivery time).
My question is, has anybody eyperience with this raidcontroller?
Some postings about 9240 looks that I must upgrade first? The node has pve1.8 installed yet.
And the BBU is an "must be".
The next question is, how LSI handle disk-sizes? Because the node has some drbd-devices and the size must be the same with the new raid-controller. With the areca i use the setting "truncate of 10G", so there should be enough space the reach the same raid-volume-size...
And the performance? LSI wrote there are very fast... but this is very relative.
