Hi,
to adress the need for some more advanced backup features for Windows based VMs, we're currently looking into Acronis Cyber Backup (https://www.acronis.com/en-us/business/backup/kvm/licensing-options/) as we have good experience with a former version of the Product on VMware.

As it also supports native KVM systems, it looks like a suitable solution to work with Proxmox too, although it looks like it has to be installed directly on the PVE host, which we usually try to keep as clean as possible. But, if it solves our Backup demands, one has probably to bite the bullet

Has anyone already some experience with this solution and can provide hands-on feedback on it?

Thanks & best regards

yes. from the point of view of the Acronis, virtualization does not exist (except licensing). The control center and backup node is an typical VM's and connects to others agents via network.
