[SOLVED] /etc/pve/lxc/102.conf: Permission denied

Hello gents
I'd like to create a CT for running TailScale, that should be easy they said, it's easy indeed. But, following the Tailscale's instruction to bring up Tailscale in an unprivileged container, i'm unable to write in /etc/pve.

When and how do you encounter the error?

I get
/etc/pve/lxc/102.conf : permission denied
when im trying to write on 102.conf

Following the tailscale guide i should

lxc.cgroup2.devices.allow: c 10:200 rwm lxc.mount.entry: /dev/net/tun dev/net/tun none bind,create=file

Into CT directory

Am having the same issue, while trying to add igpu passthrough for plex

root@pve:~# /etc/pve/lxc/100.conf
-bash: /etc/pve/lxc/100.conf: Permission denied


Not sure if the issue is due to me removing local-lvm and resizing local

Looks like you are trying to run the configuration file, which won't work because it is not an executable or script. What are you trying to accomplish with that command line?
If you want to edit the configuration file from the command line use an editor, like nano for example.

hey there, yes i'm feeling in the same Islubio way, and yes i forgot to add nano, feel so dumb loosing a day.
But the way thanks for your reply and i hope this short thread will help someone in the future.

UPDATE
Fixed it by turning on the new host, completely forgot about Quorum and you need majority to get quorum (only one node (50%) is not majority)

Hi all, sorry to revive this thread, but running into a similar issue when running

root@pve:~# pct set 107 -mp2 /mnt/USB1,mp=/mnt/USB1 unable to open file '/etc/pve/nodes/pve/lxc/107.conf.tmp.320361' - Permission denied

When I try nano into the file it tells me it's read-only

I'm trying to bind my host to client

Significant notes:
- created my first cluster yesterday (on the same network) with the goal of migrating my vm's and ct's from my current host to my new host
- mounted my 4tb hdd to current host to save data before transfering things
- 107 is privileged
- new host is currently off to save power whilst just backing up data from current host
