Hello,

I'm using Proxmox VE 1.8 (2.6.32-4-pve) on a Dell Poweredge T610. There are running some Windows 2008 R2 Servers with SP1 64 Bit version. I've got errors in the eventlog from the driver of the LSI controller 53C895A:
Event ID 9: The device /Device/Scsi/Sym_hi1 doesn't answer
Event ID 11: The driver (Sym_hi) has detectet a controller error on /Device/Scsi/Sym_hi1

These erros occuered on PVE version 1.7 too.

These events where logged on every 2k8 mashines for minium once a day. At the mailserver (Exchange 2010) about 500 times at hour.

The mashines uses qcow2-Images per SCSI (In raw-format the errors happens too).

On some pages of Bugzilla i found hints for a bug in qemu (unfortunately i can't find these pages again).

can someone help me with this errors? Please let me know which information you need.

you use scsi disks in windows? not recommended, don´t do it. use virtio.

thanks for the fast answer.

I was wondering, that scsi isn't recommanded for windows. Does it affect only Windows 2008 or Win2k8 in virtual environments?

What is the different between Windows 2008 and Win2k8?

In any case, for Windows use virtio for block devices, or ide.
For Linux virtio.
