Hello,

We're upgrading several old PVE5 nodes (all of them with subscription), and we're facing this error:

Code:
root@pve1:~# apt update
Hit:1 http://security.debian.org stretch/updates InRelease
Ign:2 https://enterprise.proxmox.com/debian/pve stretch InRelease
Ign:3 http://ftp.es.debian.org/debian stretch InRelease
Hit:4 http://ftp.es.debian.org/debian stretch-updates InRelease
Err:5 https://enterprise.proxmox.com/debian/pve stretch Release
server certificate verification failed. CAfile: /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt CRLfile: none
Hit:6 http://ftp.es.debian.org/debian stretch Release
Reading package lists... Done
E: The repository 'https://enterprise.proxmox.com/debian/pve stretch Release' does no longer have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.

We temporary changed the pve-enterprise repo for the no-subscription one and apt update shows no errors. Should we upgrade to 5.4 with no-subscription and then change it to the enterprise one again to do the upgrade to 6.4?

Thank you

As Proxmox VE 5.x is EOL since well over a year it got no updates since then, and the enterprise and no-subscription repositories are thus 1:1 in sync, so yes, that would be an OK thing to do.
