I have a Proxmox server that runs on an SSD, which contains two instances of OMV. It also has 4 spinning disks which are pooled as a ZFS stripe and mirror. I have another box running PBS, which takes a backup of one of the OMVs - this is the most important, and dynamic, of the file sets. The other one doesn't change much, and the PBS only has so much space, so this one doesn't get formally backed up, but copies of the files are safe in two other places. So no data is at risk here. There is also a Home Assistant server on there, unbacked up, but I hadn't got far with that so it's not the end of the world if I have to start that again.
The power went off the other night, and borked my PVE (PBS came back on as happy as Larry). I'm looking for the line of least resistance to restore service as normal.
I couldn't get Proxmox to boot nicely. I've read a couple of threads on here about fsck. I'm a bit of a dummy with linux really, but I can follow instructions dumbly, although I didn't get anywhere with fsck. So I've taken the boot drive out and reinstalled Proxmox on another. If you tell me I've messed up I can always put the old one back. Now I'm back in the GUI but I can't seen the ZDS pool, unsurprisingly.
Can I pull that in to this new install? Will it have anything on it that I can make use of? Or do I just need to go back to what backups I have, and rework the rest? I can get all my stuff back, well all that matters, the long way, but I'm hoping there might be a method that's a little less work.
PS Yes I'm going to get a UPS
