Sure, you can simply copy the image. But it depends somehow on what that image contains, for example you should make sure that all copies have unique ssh keys, unique IP setting, unique hostname, ...
AHA... i never thought about SSH Keys...
How can I do that?

Setting the hostname and IP's is a breeze. Simply we are going to create one, shut it down and then start each one individually and then set the hostname and IP config.
I have never reset or set the SSH keys.

Sorry, I´m a new user and looking at the posts I've found no answer to this question:
What are the steps to 'copy the image' as stated in your post:
I've duplicated var/lib/vx/images/101 to var/lib/vx/images/102 and renamed vm-101-disk-1.raw to vm-102-disk-1.raw
Obviously any other actions are needed.
Can you list them. ?

It might be easier to use the GUI to make a backup and then restore using "qmrestore". However doing it manually you need to dublicate and change the configuration file also. See "/etc/qemu-server".

I copied 101.conf to 102.conf and edited accordingly
