Does Proxmox 7.x vTPM take advantage of pTPM?

Does Proxmox 7.x Virtual TPM take advantage of a Physical TPM? As far as I am aware, vTPM is virtual and that is that. However, for the intent of best practices, I have purchased a physical TPM 2.0 module for my PowerEdge R730 and want to know if it will provide any additional benefit to Proxmox.

Maybe I am dumb and missed it, but I did look through documentation in attempts to answer this question.

Correct. vTPM won't utilize a physical TPM. The only purpose for a "real" TPM would be secure boot on the host, which I do not believe PVE (yet) supports.

Cool beans, I'll keep that in mind! TPM module I bought turned out to be bound to another system anyways, so I'll return it and not bother for now
