Dear All,
Good morning
I have fresh installed PROXMOX 6.3-3
Like to try out GPU passthrough.
I searched and found some docs and url, explaining on how to enable GPU pass through, most of the documents recommend in editing “grub.conf” and “/etc/modules” and trying out basic test commands to make some check, the command are

dmesg | grep -e DMAR -e IOMMU , => after editing grub.conf and you should get some resukts
for me even without editing the grub.conf files, I am getting the similar result for
dmesg | grep -e DMAR -e IOMMU

dmesg | grep 'remapping'
Also I am getting result
dmesg | grep 'remapping'

[ 5.224620] DMAR-IR: Queued invalidation will be enabled to support x2apic and Intr-remapping.
[ 5.227047] DMAR-IR: Enabled IRQ remapping in x2apic mode

My doubt as new user is. Am I getting these results, because I am using ProxMox 6.3-3 and it is supporting GPU passthrough by default ?

Is 6.3-3 supporting GPU pass-through by default ?, advice requested
Thanks
Joseph John
Using ProxMox 6.3-3

passthrough depends mostly on functional iommu grouping, which on some platforms is enabled automatically by the kernel
so if you happen to be an such a platform, there is nothing you must do beside assign the gpu to the vm

if you get a warning there, or an error on vm start, then there is something you have to configure

best to lookup the official reference documentation: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/PCI(e)_Passthrough
