Hello all!

I have Proxmox installed on an HP EliteDesk 805 G6 that sports an AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650GE processor - has been working flawlessly for 2 years.

However, my question is if the drivers that come with Proxmox are the correct drivers to take full advantage of the processor power or if it's just a generic AMD driver?

Not too familiar with Linux when it comes to drivers, if the latest and the 'greatest' have downloaded and installed automatically - perfect! :)

I would like to take advantage of the processors full power since I am running pfSense (with multiple VPN connections [IPsec-MB, AES-NI and cryptodev enabled]), pfBlockerNG and other services) and TrueNAS (w/ Blueiris, Home Assistant, and Wyse RTSP).

Thank you for the help!

Drivers in Linux generally come as part of the kernel. It is possible to compile and install new kernel drivers using commands like insmod, etc. But my advice is just keep your kernel up to date and you will get the latest drivers they see fit to include in the kernel.
