Hy,

I would like to set up our proxmox mail gateway and have some questions:

1. What should I change in our DNS settings to move all incoming mails to proxmox(we have a win2000 mail server)?

2. How could I check my firewall settings?(I'm nut sure it is ok)

Many Thanks,
Mark

You need to change you MX record.

I do not know anything about your firewall. Please read the documentation:

It is working now. The problems were with my firewall. I have an other problem: My proxmox stops working after 4-5 hours. I can't login and I have to restart my system. It runs on a not so bad machine (2.8 GHZ; 1GB RAM)
Do you have any idea or have anybody ever had the same problem?

Is there any hint in the syslog (/var/log/syslog)?

Or is any error message displayed on the console?

Hy,

I have seen the system log, but did not show any information. When proxmox stops working I can not login on console, so I do not get any information from the console. Any idea?

Many thanks,
Mark

what hardware do you use? or do you run on virtualized hardware?

Hy,

processor: Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz
memory: 1024MB (2x512 DDR-400 Kingmax)
winchester: 40GB (SeaGate)

It works fine.

My proxmox version: proxmox-mailgateway/2.2/2906

I think I know what is the problem: I set my firewall in two steps. First was, when opened the smtp port. The second one was when I opened other ports what are used by proxmox and the changes did not saved, so proxmox able to use only smtp port now.

What do you think can it cause my problems?
