disks seen twice - PVE 6.3 on debian buster with multipath

I just installed debian buster on a system with mpt2sas hardware then followed this procedure to get PVE going:

The PVE works fine except devices are showing up twice (see attached image).

I installed the multipath-tools via:
apt install multipath-tools multipath-tools-boot

How do I make PVE aware of the multipath configuration?

did you just install the mutlipath tools or did you also configure it? (See https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/ISCSI_Multipath#Activate_Multipath ). I recommend naming the multipath devices (alias) so that the names will stay the same. You will have to create the ZFS pool manually via the CLI as the PVE tooling will not consider them.

Hi Aaron,

Thank you for the reply. I'm coming from a Solaris/Illumos world where multipath is native. So, definitely pilot error on my part to not configure. I'm confident that is my issue.

I forgot to add just a suggestion for documentation. This article:
https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_Buster

could be improved by including suggested os/disk layouts for people who need to install debian first because of multipath hardware (cannot use the PVE installer). I read the article on general LVM Layout (https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Logical_Volume_Manager_(LVM)) but it's not clear on what to do for totally clean installs.
