Disk shows up in the node but not available in the VM

Hello all,
This is my setup:
* Single node
* 4 Disk, 2 SATA & 2 SAS

The 2 sata disks works as intended and is available to my virtual machine.
I recently installed a RAID controller for the two SAS disks. They show up correctly under node/disk and with . In my case /dev/sdc/...
However, I've not figured out how to assign them to the VM using the UI.

Do I need to do this using the shell? or am I missing something obvious?
I tried VM > Hardware > add -> disk. However, it's not available in the dropdown.

What was the end result of this? I have the same problem. I have 6 HDDs that show up under my single node in the GUI but I can't figure out how to pass them to my TrueNAS Scale VM.
