Good Day

So i have a 5 Ports SATA Controller right now and want to move the RAID 5 Disks with Synology to Proxmox. How do i import the disks to Proxmox and then Pass them thou to the Synology VM.

Any help or guidance at all please.

Thanks

You don't import the disk to PVE. I would use PCI passthrough to passthrough the whole SATA controller into the Synology VM. But you probably need to put that SATA controller in your first PCIe 16x slot in case you got a consumer mainboard.

Jup. PCIe slot are either connected to the mainboards chipset or directly to the CPU. You usually can only passthrough devices put in the slots that are directly connected to the CPU. And these are usually only the 1 or 2 PCIe 16x slots.
