Hi Team,

I have moved from esxi 4.1 to proxmox.

I have installed the drivers then copied over the vm image to proxmox.

On proxmox i created the drive as a vmdk.
Renamed that after the creation and copied the esxi image in its place.

Boots up fine and works fine but the disk uasge is always at 100%

Its a windows box but even with linux same isse.

I created another linux server directly on proxmox with .vmdk and that one the disk is utilised at 20% skikes up but comes down.

Would there be any reason why the images that were moved accross use so much of disk?

Cheers,

Raj

When the disk gets older all free space is at least written once, so there are no more sparse regions.

I suggest you do a fresh install of a VM (using virtio and raw virtual disk images) and compare this to your migrated VMs.
