Hello,

I am continue working with my ceph cluster under proxmox.
I have a question, there is a backup function under the proxmox UI.
I found that this version can works with "local" and "nfs (though a VM i created)", but not the RBD(*).
Is that possible to backup the VM directly to the RBD ceph pool? So it does not need to be done though a VM>
I tried to google this information for a while, but seems cannot find out anything useful.

Thanks

Hello,

There is no built-in feature for this in Proxmox. But there is several ways.

However, if you want to store backups on the same cluster where your live data is have, simply create snapshots. There is 3rd party scripts what can do this automatically.
