Detach node from cluster with ceph

Hello how is everything.

I have a problem on my production nodes, as when I shut down an unused node, the others that make up the cluster are affected, rendering them unusable.

From what I would like to understand, what are the steps to follow to proceed to remove a node without data loss.

I understand that the most logical thing would be to destroy OSD?

Will this cause rebalancing so as not to lose data?

Greetings.

What do you mean with unusable?

How many nodes do you have in the cluster?

The procedure would be to mark the OSDs on the node to be removed as out so that Ceph can rebalance the data on the remaining nodes. Once the rebalance is done, you can stop and destroy them.
