Hi,
since this morning 6:00 AM we do not recieve any emails through our primary filter..

We run 2 VMware hosts version: Proxmox Mail Gateway 2.2
Nothing has changed but users recieve messages back with the following message:
This is the mail system at host primary-proxmox-host.
delivery temporarily suspended: conversation with
127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1] timed out while receiving the initial server greeting.

This happens for all our domains. Actions taken:
Rebooted server.
Stopped/started all non-critical services.
Still our SMTP-que fills with the above error. The first time we rebooted there were about 180 messages delivered. Our secondary proxmox has no problems recieving the messages.

ATM we have just switched off our primary server, but are concerned about the 700 messages in the qeue.
The syslog-logs do not show any specific service with a problem.

Any idea?

first, apply the latest hotfix (3705). and give the following info (looks like a performance/memory issue - filters are stoped):

which kernel? vmware tools installed?
how much ram co you give to the mail gateway?
which vmware host - exact version?
what storage type?
other vm on that host?
how many emails do you process?
did you enable OCR?
greylisting and spf enabled?

Installing the hotfix seems to have solved this.
I will keep an eye on this till monday, and update the other relay too.
Tnx.
