Hi,

I am using proxmox in 5 nodes cluster with WHMCS modules garden, everything works perfect until this problem appear.

I believe all nodes has been updated using the GUI.

Is there any way to update manually and how to fix this error?

Thanks

hi,

you're getting that warning because this issue is already fixed in the newer versions.

please check if all the nodes are on the same package versions: run pveversion -v and compare the outputs.

if they're not matching, you can run apt update && apt dist-upgrade to upgrade the nodes. if there's a kernel upgrade you will also need to reboot the machines.

if after the upgrades you still don't see the same versions of the packages, then maybe you have wrong repositories set up [0]

hope this helps!

Hi,

all nodes are matching and should i reboot each nodes? looks like I need to migrates all VMs and then reboot the nodes.

However, all vms are running windows, is there any way to safe reboot without losing any opened applications in the Windows VM?

Thanks

are you sure all the packages are matching for all nodes?

if uptime is important, you can just do the migration dance, e.g. live-migrate your running VMs from node1 -> node2, then reboot node1 and migrate them back there.

follow this process for all nodes until they've all been rebooted.

but before that, if you're sure the packages are matching then you could try restarting the services on the nodes: systemctl restart pveproxy pvedaemon (this shouldn't have an effect on the running VMs)

hi,

Yes i am sure because I tried to update using the command given and also using the GUI, and there is no update available.

and for the systemctl restart pveproxy pvedaemon , should i do at all nodes at one time?

Thanks

Hi,

Tried to use command systemctl restart pveproxy pvedaemon and still the error appear.

Do you any suggestion on speed up the live migration? I know RAID controller is not a good choice but I need to use it for the redundant disk.

At the moment to transfer 30GB, it takes around 6 minutes and I am using 1GB connection.

Please advise.

Thanks!

could you post the output from the pveversion -v from all the nodes here? just to make sure...

faster 10G links, and disks with better I/O performance should remove some bottlenecks from live migration.

if you use a good network storage like ceph [0] you will have faster migration (since the disk image doesn't need to be moved around).
