Because I want to know what block size that dataset represents and isn't the generic local-zfs name. I don't want to use the name local-zfs in any of my setup because if Proxmox changes the default value in the future, then I potentially see issues if your existing VMs use local-zfs storage all over the place and you need to... ?migrate things?. the key word was potentially. I'm just trying to think through future possibilities.
If you set a custom value it should stay that way and changes to the default will not affect existing ZVOLs either but sure, you can do that. local-zfs is just a storage ID that is, by default, configured to refer to rpool/data.
