The memory is assigned to the vm. Reclaiming happens only if memory ballooning is enabled AND the host has memory pressure.
Yes, this enables ballooning. The guest OS will get a ballooning device provided, suitable driver is part of virtio-drivers.

What I have a problem with is people who think, that - for some unknown reason - the well known and established rules do not apply to them.
This is a general issue in today's societies, which is why I think, that we should be extra vigilent about it. Once you allow this to pass, it quickly overwhelms you.
And I disagree with the last two postings in one regard:
You can make a mistake and post in your native language in the english-speaking part of the forums. Initially there is no harm in that. Anyone can make an honest mistake. You know, anyone without sin, and so on ...
However, once you have been told about the rules and THEN you decide to not abide by them, then it is time for consequences. Not knowing and ignorance are different things afterall.
