[Debian 9 template] SSH failed from external, but working on proxmox console

Hi,
I just created a Debian9 container using Proxmox template. I can access the VM using root without any issue, but when I tried to SSH to the server from my PC, the root password is always rejected:

log from server:
Nov 29 07:11:35 dwp2 sshd[15683]: pam_unix(sshd:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=ssh ruser= rhost=ip.add.ress.17 user=root
Nov 29 07:11:37 dwp2 sshd[15683]: Failed password for root from ip.add.ress.17 port 15371 ssh2

Any idea why?

Hi,

Check sshd config in Container. You should uncomment PermitRootLogin yes and restart sshd daemon
