I have a problem with backing up my containers to ftp sotrage provided by OVH. Since proxmox doesnt have an option to backup using ftp I just used curlftpfs and set the backup destination to its mountpoint.
Sometimes everything works just fine and sometimes I'm stuck with gzip process becoming zombie, mostly on the last container to be transferred.
I'm not sure but I think that when I was using lzo there was no issue like that.
