Creating Container from raw image possible?

after a crash i have a new Proxmox Installation, i made a backup of the lxc container but that failed and i didnt knew it failed.
I have the raw image from the container, so i would like to know if its possible to restore the container from that raw file
and if yes how to do it.

One way is to create a new container like the old one (cpu, ram, disk) but don't start it. Mount the old container image and copy over the files
