Creating a cluster with nodes that already have VM's

I know the manual talks about backing up the vm's on the nodes and clustering them then. But what I'm wanting to know, is if I have a node that doesn't already have any vm's, and one that does, would it be possible to cluster them then. Because if only one has vm's, then there wouldn't be any conflicts.

Yes. Only the joining node needs to be empty (no VMs).
