Corrupt qcow2 image needs removing (with LVM on it)

I cannot boot VM up due to a corrupted qcow2 image. I dont need the disk so have detached so the the VM boots. Unfortunately it boots into Centos 7.x emergency mode. The disk is removed from /etc/fstab but looking in journalctl -xb I see timeout trying to start the lvm that was on that disk.

How can remove all reference to it as I do not need its contents as they were transient.
 
This is probably better asked at a CentOS forum - since it's not really related with PVE

In any case - maybe try editing/adapting the config and cache files in /etc/lvm inside the guest
