Convert Physical Machine to LXC

Is there a how to to convert a physical machine to an LXC on Proxmox? I have a Centos 5.x box I want to convert.

Centos 5 does not run on LXC, consider upgrading to Centos 6 or convert to a VM.

so many changes moving to proxmox 4.x wow. (Ive got some legacy Centos 4.8 and 5 here that cant easily be upgraded). Guess it's back to 3.4...

Can you please elaborate as to why it won't run? Is this a technical issue that has no way around it?
