Is it possible to control NIC PCI slot order ?

SophosXG is sensitive to particular order of PCI devices and adding virtio NIC always puts it on top as port1, realtek driver on the other hand goes last ( after PCI passthrough devices).

It would be nice to have the ability to control the PCI slot number of virtual NICs.

sound like it is not very robust ;)

in any case, with our 'normal' config you cannot control the pci slot numbers, they are fixed so that the resulting hw is consistent (for live migration)
what you could do is to check if you can use the 'args' part of the config to do that
there you can put arbitrary qemu commandline options that will be appended (see 'man qm.conf')

I agree, their config and the fact that changing NICs post installation breaks the box without access to it is another issue.

Thanks for the hint about the args, will try that although when that does not appear in the config UI I might as well leave it at realtek driver.
