Console VNC refresh rates after V1.2 upgrade

Not used my proxmox server for a while, but updated to V1.2 today.
Now the vnc consoles are very slow when refreshing the screen update. Not sure if this is 100% related to V1.2 upgrade or a previous IE8 upgrade.
Any ideas?

what guest OS do you use? which graphic card emulation (cirrus logic - default - or the optional standard vga?

I had here a similar experience with a windows 2003 server.
I clicked on a window inside the vnc console to resize it for full size and the server (not only the console window) freezed for several seconds. After then it was working again.
