Hello,

I searched everywhere but was not able to find the information in the documentation.

Is there any way to connect with a private key (ssh-rsa) to a guest when using the console in the web ui (noVNC)? Connecting with user/password works well but I disable password connection and only allow ssh key on my servers.

Thank you,
Torpi

First no. But normally if you do so, you are able to login on TTY successfully. To disable "password connection" only relates ssh-server.

The NoVNC console _is_ the console, as far as the VM knows. So unless you've disabled console logins you will be able to log in on the NoVNC. If you disable console logins, how will you fix it when it breaks?

ETA: Only Proxmox users can access the NoVNC console. Perhaps it would be enough to limit who can access which VM's using the Proxmox permission system?

Thanks for the reply. Those servers are RancherOS servers that I use for my k8s cluster. The configuration of the ssh rsa is in a cloud-init file that is accessible through http. If anything goes wrong, I can edit the yaml file and reboot the server. The admin user has no password set and cannot connect with a terminal so I have only ssh-server for the connection. I have the same approach with CoreOS. My Debians and CentOS follow the same approach.
