Hello everyone, I would like a confirmation: I need to connect a USB flash drive to the NUC where I have Proxmox installed, but I want it to be visible to one of the active virtual machines. If I understand correctly, the procedure is as follows: connect the flash drive, then in Proxmox add storage with the LVM type, containing Disk Image. Next, in the VM hardware settings, add a USB device and select the one just added. Restart the VM, and then, since it's Windows, I should see the flash drive among the connected devices. Is this correct?

Thank you.

If you want to do this:
Next, in the VM hardware settings, add a USB device and select the one just added. Restart the VM, and then, since it's Windows, I should see the flash drive among the connected devices.
Then don't do this:
If I understand correctly, the procedure is as follows: connect the flash drive, then in Proxmox add storage with the LVM type, containing Disk Image.

Either use it as a storage for (multiple) virtual disk(s) for VM(s), which I would advise against;
or pass the whole USB drive to a specific VM (as a USB device), which is probably what you want.

Should I use this?
Are you using SPICE? Did you configure mapped resources? Otherwise try using USB port. Maybe you need to stop and restart the VM (depending on whether Hotplug is enabled for USB).

Did you try pressing the Help button and read the documentation: https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/pve-admin-guide.html#qm_usb_passthrough ? There is lots of information about USB passthrough on this forum, the Proxmox Wiki and even various guides on the internet.
